Payment Options
At Traverse Health Clinic, we understand health care costs can be a burden to our patients. As a Community Health Center, we serve everyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. We are not a free clinic but we do work hard to make health care accessible and affordable to every person in your family.
You can be confident that as an organization that receives federal grant funding to help patients with their health care costs, we are willing and able to work with you to make sure you can get the care you need. Traverse Health Clinic will not turn you away because you can’t pay.
If you don’t have health insurance, we offer a 20% discount for payment in full on the day of service. If you can’t pay, please ask us about applying for our sliding fee scale discount, or setting up a payment plan that works for your budget.
We accept all local Healthy Michigan Plans, Medicare, Medicaid, as well as many private insurance plans.

We can bill all insurances we just need a current copy of your insurance card. If your insurance does not cover the total cost of your visit (co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles) you are responsible for paying the balance. We can work with you to make payment arrangements.
If you are uninsured or underinsured, payment is expected on the date of your appointment, or we will work with you to make payment arrangements. Payment in full on the day of your service may qualify you for a 20% discount (insurance co-pays are not eligible). You may qualify for our sliding fee schedule, which is a discount on our services. You can find our Sliding Fee Screening Application here. We can also help you explore health insurance coverage options.
We accept all forms of payment EXCEPT American Express.
